The new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy starts a lot like the last with Peter Quill/Star Lord having to explain just who exactly he is. And, just like the first trailer, that explanation launches into a rapid fire assault of awesome from each of the various Guardians. However, this trailer comes with a fantastic side of Rocket Raccoon and Groot.
Unlike teasers for the many Marvel movies that have come before it, which have their moments of levity but largely stick to high stakes drama and action, Guardians of the Galaxy seems dead set on teasing out the more goofy, off beat tone the film will compared to other flicks from the studio.
This time around it's mostly Star Lord (Chris Pratt) explaining how "a thief, two thugs, an assassin, and a maniac" (Quill, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, respectively) came together to save the galaxy. But it's also got Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) coming in with the great one liners "Oh what the hell, I don't got that long of lifespan anyway." and the movie's Hodor/Steve Holt dropping his requisite "I am Groot." (That last bit, you'll note, is voiced to perfection by Vin Diesel.) There's also a fair amount of Drax and Gamora kicking much ass and some fairly amazing space battle footage.
